How to choose a painting for a child's room

We have lived to see wonderful times, when a child's room is no longer just a space ruled by Chinese toys and Disney illustrations.

The fashion for ecological, natural materials and the abundance of good children's illustration mean that the eyes of our little ones can now enjoy good design and interesting colors.

I encourage parents towards art education

I encourage parents to take care of their children's art education, because in Polish schools the number of hours of classes about art is absolutely insufficient. There is no better way than making sure that as many beautiful books, objects and views as possible are present in the child's surroundings. To accustom them to good models. There is also no better way than hanging good art on the walls of a child's room.

What to choose for a child's room

It is well known that the decor of a child's room changes most often, which is why these do not have to be expensive works. A well framed watercolor, or even a giclee print, will certainly be enough.

Children like plant and animal motifs very much and they do not need infantile or literal depictions. It is worth matching the subject to their interests. Of course it is also worth thinking about the colors of the work, so that it suits the walls and the accessories. It does not have to repeat the colors present in a given room – sometimes it is better to hang a work or a framing contrasting in color, so that it enlivens the interior.

A visualization before the purchase

I often make visualizations of a room with a watercolor hung in it, in several variants of framing, in order to avoid mistakes and unnecessary costs and to gain certainty that the watercolor will be that ideal decoration of the interior.

In the visualization below I placed a fairly large painting in the room, but thanks to the delicate forms and the pastel colors the painting does not disturb the atmosphere of a girl's room at all.
