Inkography, also called a giclee print, is high quality digital printing, particularly popular in art and in interior decoration. This method is characterized by high resolution and accuracy of color reproduction, thanks to which the reproduction is faithful to the original.

How it differs from an ordinary print

Giclee is printed on special printers, with pigments – these are more durable and more resistant to fading than ordinary printing inks. The substrate is sometimes canvas, artistic paper or other materials, which ensure the durability and quality of the image.

For whom

A giclee print is chosen by artists and galleries, because it makes it possible to obtain a reproduction good enough to be sold as a separate work. For a collector it is a way to have a faithful version of a favorite work without spending large sums. It also works well as a gift, if you do not want to devote a very high amount to it.

How I make my own inkographies

The inkographies which I make to order are produced on professional Epson Velvet Art Fine Paper with a weight of 260. This paper has the porous texture of the paper used for painting original watercolors, thanks to which the inkographies are hard to tell apart from them. I print on a professional Epson Stylus Photo R2880 inkjet printer. The paper is very durable and resistant to yellowing, and the inks dedicated to this printer give a great intensity of colors, good reproduction of detail and resistance to fading.
