A dried coneflower head in the depths of winter reveals what the petals hide in summer: a dense, spiky cylinder of bracts arranged in perfectly regular rows. The frame is filled almost entirely by the structure, and the cool, steel-navy light of February picks out every rigid spike and trace of frost on its tip. The dark, blurred background and the sparse palette of graphite, silver and white build a mood of raw, frosty calm. The close-up turns an ordinary spent flower into a sculptural, rhythmic pattern. This print gives character to modern, minimalist interiors and looks beautiful arranged as a triptych.

I photograph on the wild meadows of Warsaw. These are plants considered weeds. Often unnoticed, yet look how beautiful they are.
