Green in the purest form I could draw out of paint. Five rounded forms of different sizes stand on green stems, each covered with a heavy net of cells through which a darker underside shows.
The ground is cold and silver, scored with vertical bands — deliberately without a trace of green, so that nothing takes anything away from the colour of the forms.
The two largest forms touch at the sides and make a shape that reads as a heart. I did not plan it; it came out of the arrangement and stayed.
The most energetic work in the whole archive. Green at this saturation lifts a room immediately, so it needs calm surroundings.
Oil on canvas, 100 × 100 cm. This work has been sold; it stays in the archive to show where the paintings available today came from. Similar motifs are in the oil painting gallery.
