A peacock with a cobalt neck and a small crest trails behind it a tail made of huge, fluffy spheres, resembling frosted dandelions or balls of snow. The whole piece is kept in a single, cool blue - from a pale, barely marked lavender background to saturated indigo on the bird's breast. I made use here of the effect of paint spreading on wet paper: the clouds have soft, furry edges, and the lighter centers remained almost white, so the tail seems to glow from within.
The composition is airy, frosty, and very quiet, with a note of fairy-tale lightness. Perfect for a bedroom, a child's room, or a bright interior in a Scandinavian spirit.
