Three large, drop-shaped cups in pearl grey grow out of thin stems curling into a spiral, and their insides are filled with rust-brown, finely drawn rhizomes. In the background I scattered smaller buds in turquoise and cool blue, guided by vertical, light green lines as if inside a glass florarium. The colors are laid in thin glazes on wet paper, so the edges of the flowers stay soft and transparent, and the white of the ground works as light.
The juxtaposition of cool blue with warm sepia gives a calm, botanical mood with a study's elegance. The piece will find its place beautifully above a chest of drawers, in a bedroom, or in a minimalist interior with light wood.
