A straight evening-primrose stem rises through the entire frame, tightly wrapped in lance-shaped leaves and flower buds arranged in a spiral. Soft, overexposed light from above brightens the top of the plant and highlights the fine down on the leaves, while the background dissolves into a pearly, silvery-green glow. The composition is vertical and focused — almost a portrait — with sharpness carried along the axis of the shoot. The muted palette of green, grey and white lets the work breathe with the calm of a meadow at early morning. It fits beautifully above a bed or in a bright, natural living room.
