Three white conical forms stand close together, and thin golden-brown branchings creep over their surfaces — like twigs that have started to grow on something that is not a tree.
Between and behind them float blue fluffy spheres on green stems. The ground is misty and grey-green, with no clear horizon.
The title is literal. I painted this about how quickly nature takes over anything that stands still — and about the fact that it looks beautiful rather than threatening.
A cool, muted palette with one warm accent of gold. A calm work, good for a bedroom.
Oil on canvas, 100 × 100 cm. This work has been sold; it stays in the archive to show where the paintings available today came from. Similar motifs are in the oil painting gallery.
