Two oval flower heads, filled with small dots of pure cobalt and blue, grow out of a thicket of thin stems against a bright, almost white meadow. I juxtapose here transparent glazes of cool blue with the vivid, juicy green of the leaves and pearl-grey buds, which I blurred on the wet paper. I wanted the composition to be light and airy — the forms seem to float in the light, and the white of the paper plays the role of air.
