A branching little tree with sage-olive boughs spreads out like a fan against a blurred, raspberry halo soaked into the wet paper. At the base of the twigs, intensely red dots cluster together, like tiny fruits of happiness gathered in one place. Around it float light pink dabs and thin, pale-green shoots, leaving plenty of luminous, unpainted white. The pairing of cool green with warm pink is fresh and optimistic, and the transparency of the glazes gives the work a lightness.
