Three huge leaves fill almost the whole frame, blazing at the top with orange and vermilion, then collapsing at the lower edge into a deep navy black. Inside them a fine network of bright veins is traced — a cool, silvery-blue lace that contrasts with the heat of the background and gives the composition an almost botanical precision. I work the paint here wet-in-wet, letting the pigments bloom and migrate across the paper, while slender grey and navy stems in the background close the rhythm of the verticals. A single drop of pure blue at the bottom acts like a breath in the middle of this hot, autumnal intensity.
A bold, decorative piece for a modern living room, a hallway, or a space with dark wood.
