Round plant crowns hover over a bright, almost white horizon, where emerald and deep turquoise flow smoothly into a warm, earthy brown. The pigments were spread on wet paper and left to work on their own, so each patch has a soft, feathery edge and luminous inner concentrations. Over this blurred scenery I set, with a thin brush and ink, precise, lacy canopies in blue and white, along with small mustard flower dots on fragile stems. The contrast between the vigorous glaze and the delicate drawing creates a fairy-tale landscape, quiet and highly decorative.
The piece fits perfectly into a modern living room with a cool, muted palette.
