A man in a red hat and striped scarf walks through a birch grove, and beside him, on a loose leash, strides a greyhound in a matching scarf — two companions moving in perfectly matched rhythm. I paint the birch trunks in broad, wet glazes, over which I set the black patches of bark with confident ink, while the golden crowns are barely indicated at the top edge of the sheet. The background stays light and airy: a pink-ochre mist, cool shadows, and blurred traces on the path suggest damp October air. Warm browns, rust, and touches of red bring the whole scene to life without disturbing its calm.
An intimate, warm scene for a hallway, dining room, or the study of a dog lover.
