Three silvery shoots of ash-leaved maple run through the frame in parallel, their smooth bark studded with bright, tightly closed buds. Side light grazes the surface of the twigs and brings out their metallic sheen, while the tangle of finer branches behind dissolves into a cool, grey-blue blur. The rhythm of the verticals and the minimal palette — ash grey, ivory, a faint warm accent in the bud scales — create an impression of graphic, almost musical repetition. The frame is quiet, wintry and very orderly. It works beautifully paired with another print from this series, above a sofa or a desk.
