Mother nature covered a great many plants with hairs, fulfilling the most varied functions. A great, oval form filled with a cream and beige, cellular mosaic spreads to the right into a dense, prickly mane of thin, dark needles.
As a creating artist I allowed myself to "dress" one of Wojciech Fangor's compositions in a mohair waistcoat. A cool, pearl gray background leaves it all the space, emphasizing the raw, almost organic texture.
And since it is somewhat skimpy, the temptation is all the greater to take a peek at the Master's work... I work here with a decided contrast of black and white with small flashes of golden ocher, building tension between gentleness and a bristling edge. This is a work of strong, graphic character, in which abstraction meets botanical fantasy. Perfect for a modern, minimalist interior that needs an expressive, sculptural accent.
