I painted this picture during frosty days. Winter often covered the plants with frost and snow. A frosted background in shades of icy blue wraps for me gray, cellular buds covered with a delicate, netted texture, and fine grasses dusted with frost.
That is how my silvery flowers came about. I build the frosty, quieted mood with soft glazes and a subtle play of light on the texture of the canvas, and the cool, almost monochromatic palette of white, gray and blue radiates the calm and purity of a winter morning.
The painting is currently in the offer of the Artoffice gallery, but I can recover it for you. This is a modern, botanical painting that will bring freshness and elegant simplicity into an interior.
