This is a very large work, whose story is connected with the content of another painting entitled NEIGHBOURHOOD. In this duet there is written the story of plants which live in two neighboring gardens. Elongated, cone like forms in an intense cobalt are covered by an expressive, cellular mesh of dark outlines, resembling the structure of stone paving or reptile skin.
They are curious about one another, they would gladly get to know each other better, and at the same time they are a little afraid whether there will be enough room for everyone and whether they will not violate each other's boundaries at the fence. The plants on thin stems turn towards one another, as if listening with curiosity - hence the title of the work. In the background, in a misted gray and pale blue, twin, dimmed shapes loom, building depth.
The combination of a lively blue with a cool, silvery background creates a dynamic, modern effect. The large format makes this painting a strong, decorative accent for a spacious living room, a loft or a representative interior.
